RCC was brought on board by PKA Architects when they were approached by a developer proposing a mixed use development on a vacant site in Devizes town centre. The site accommodated a single storey clinic building and car park but historically there would have been a building on the main road frontage
RCC were approached regarding the possibility of attaining planning permission for an additional dwelling in the garden of our clients’house. It was an extremely timely approach, as Wiltshire Council was in the process of changing their local planning policy document.
This proposal related to an old farm yard site near the centre of the attractive village of All Cannings. It consisted of two pleasant traditional brick buildings and other more modern utilitarian buildings.
RCC has been involved in numerous planning applications for replacement dwellings. With replacement dwellings planners are mainly considering the increase in size of the dwelling, its design, impact on the landscape and character of the area.

This was an exciting development by Gaiger Bros. Ltd. who bought this landmark listed building in Devizes. It was originally part of the wider military barracks but whilst the remainder of the site had been subject to redevelopment The Keep was retained in separate ownership and used for low key commercial use.

Following a long neighbourly dispute about the use of our garden outbuilding we engaged Richard to apply for formal permission to use the building as a holiday let. Richard and his assistant Rachel drew up a detailed planning statement and followed through the application process and resulting queries in a thoroughly balanced and professional manner. The outcome was positive and I have already recommended RCC to others.

We retained the services of RCC Town Planning Consultancy to assist us in preparing and submitting a retrospective planning application to change the windows and a couple of other issues in a building that although not listed, apparently fell in the curtilage of neighbouring listed buildings.
The team are highly experienced and produce a professional, complete planning statement leaving absolutely nothing to be challenged. We dealt primarily with Vicky who kept on top of any comments posted, supplying responses where necessary and keeping us informed at every step.
We had a positive outcome on our first application and would definitely use Richard and his excellent team again. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring planning assistance.
