Chandlers Farm

Chandlers Farm

Posted

This proposal related to an old farm yard site near the centre of the attractive village of All Cannings. It consisted of two pleasant traditional brick buildings and other more modern utilitarian buildings. A historic planning application to convert the traditional buildings to dwellings and build a further new dwelling had previously been refused and subsequently dismissed on appeal.

RCC were asked to look at the options afresh having regard to the current local and national planning policy situation. We felt a strong case could now be made for the proposed conversions and the new build dwelling. An architect was appointed to undertake the necessary design work and an ecologist brought on board to undertake surveys and provide reports concerning protected species.

The comprehensive planning submission was made, which carefully addressed all the necessary issues. The application was successful and approved within the council’s normal timescales. Photographs of the existing buildings and extracts of the proposed drawings are shown.

I bought my plot after extensive homework, including a 'pre planning' application to the local authority. What followed was an unprecedented series of law changes and heartbreak trying to resolve my planning application...until I contacted Richard and Vicky at RCC Town Planning. They completely understood the 'phosphate mitigation' issues amongst many other complex uncertainties, not mentioned by the authority. The professional understanding and forward thinking aspects of approach is beyond anything I’ve experienced in over 45 years as a tradesman. Every single scenario thrown at them was successfully addressed. I cannot possibly do justice to their kindness, professionalism and experience in such a short summary and recommend their service with passion. Absolutely fantastic, with planning approval issued. I will remain forever grateful to them.

It’s been a long journey but we finally got there!

Richard has been right at so many turns during the process of our project to get the planning permission we wanted, we couldn't have done it without him and his team.

He recommended a great Heritage specialist who was an instrumental part of the team and then wrote a perfect report to accompany the appeal.

Accompanied by the low energy information this enabled the inspectorate officer to see the same sense as we all saw from the very beginning.

We have been and will continue to use Richard and RCC Town Planning in the future.

E & V Kidner, Dauntsey

Richard and his team navigated us through a complex Class Q application, converting a number of steel frame agricultural buildings into dwellings. Once this was approved, we then successfully obtained full planning permission using the Class Q as the fallback position.

Throughout the process RCC have offered thorough and practical advice. They have been meticulous with every detail and we always had full confidence in them to help us reach our ambitions for the site.

We received regular updates whilst the applications were under consultation and Richard managed the communication with the council professionally and in a timely manner.

We are incredibly grateful for all your hard work, thank you.
