Maisey Farm
RCC worked closely with PKA Architects who were commissioned to design a new classical country house just outside of Marlborough. As shown in the photographs, the site consisted of a complex of farm buildings and a number of houses along the ridge line. The proposal was to demolish all bar one of the dwellings and some agricultural buildings and build a new dwelling in their place. This new dwelling would be linked to a courtyard of buildings which would provide an annexe, ancillary accommodation and garaging. The extracts of drawings and 3D images shown were all prepared by PKA.
Due to the scale of the proposed development and sensitive siting in a very attractive landscape setting (the site is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), the application was carefully presented with a robust planning case. A number of other specialist consultants were used to deal with landscape impact and ecological matters etc.
Even once the comprehensive application was submitted further extensive negotiations were required with the council, the result however was an approval and work is now well underway.
