Extension to Class Q dwelling permitted

We previously attained permission for three Class Q conversions on this site for our clients.  Class Q is permitted development rights to change the use of agricultural buildings to residential use without needing full planning permission.  A prior approval process is still needed and these are far from straightforward and fraught with potential ‘trip wires’ which is why we always recommend using a planning consultant.    

The thing you couldn't do at that time was extend the building at all (Class Q has since been changed to allow this) but our clients just needed a bit more space to make the conversion more practical.  There are no permitted development rights to extend houses created under Class Q so RCC prepared and submitted an application for the extension under the householder planning process.  This has now been approved and our client can start preparing for the further building works.
