Former school and training use building attains planning permission

The building was owned by the Bristol Diocese who had asked RCC to explore the options for this building following the closing of the last use of the building as a youth residential centre.  The local planning policies did allow for a route to a residential conversion without the need for the marketing of the property, which is a common requirement with many councils.

Following a positive pre-application enquiry we progressed to a full planning application, including bringing a team together that consisted of a heritage consultant, an architect and an ecologist.  

Whilst there were a number of local objections and a request that the application was determined by the planning committee, not under delegated powers, we were pleased to see a positive recommendation by the planning officers.  It was even more pleasing that the planning committee agreed with the recommendation and approved the application.
