We had previously attained permission a couple of years ago but our clients had be unable to start work on the conversion and as such we re-applied to in effect renew the permission for a further three years. This is where the Class Q and other PDR's vary from the normal planning permission as the work needs to be completed within 3 years not just commenced.

In 2013 the Government introduced new permitted development rights to allow office buildings to be converted to residential use. This was for an initial temporary period of 3 years but they subsequently made the new rights permanent in 2016.
