RCC had previously undertaken work on a redundant group of farm buildings and when a Class R PDR application was refused on unsubstantiated grounds we had to submit an appeal on behalf of our clients. We felt so strongly that the council had refused the application on unacceptable grounds that as part of the appeal we also applied for costs against the council. The Planning Inspector not only allowed the appeal and granted planning permission but they also agreed the council had acted unreasonably and award full costs against the council.
This was a hugely frustrating process to have to go through but we are delighted that our clients were fully supported by an independent Planning Inspector.
