RCC had previously attained outline planning permission for this dwelling which was the key first step in proving the functional need and business case for this dwelling as it was located outside of a defined settlement. This was not a straightforward matter and it was for that reason that RCC recommended the outline planning application route. That way we could go about getting agreement from the council as to the principle of the dwelling on the site before the client incurred architects fees.
Once the outline permission was granted RCC worked with the client and the architect to create a dwelling that met the clients needs but would also meet the requirements of the planners. How big such rural workers houses are can be an issue and it was also quite a tight and awkward site so a very bespoke design was needed. We considered the resulting scheme is a really exiting design that will be perfect for our client. We can't wait to see it built.
