Our client had bought the farm to accommodate their expanding events business and needed internal and external storage for everything from toilet rolls to Portaloos and all the other items needed to hold festivals and other outdoor events.
Whilst the re-use of agricultural buildings for commercial storage is often straightforward to attain planning permission for, outdoor storage in a countryside location is much more difficult. We ensured that a robust justification was made and we also set out how the use could be controlled by suitable planning conditions so as to satisfy the planning officer, whilst still ensuring our client had a planning permission that suited their requirements.
The result was full planning permission under delegated powers.
