Whilst the site was in the primary retail frontage, the building had not previously been used for retail use. RCC were therefore able to set out a robust case to support the proposed restaurant use in planning policy terms. The building was also listed and in the conservation area and so the works required for the conversion, including the ventilation and extraction equipment had to be carefully considered. The result was a permission within the normal 8 weeks.
