The brewery had been running from the premises for a few year but unbeknown to the owners they had needed planning permission for a change of use. This all came to light after they had also started up a taproom on some nights of the week and at the weekend and this had proved very popular.
RCC were contacted to see if we could help and we quickly proceeded to bring together a planning application for both uses and, at our suggestion, we brought on board an acoustic consultant as there were houses very nearby. After the application was submitted there were some issues raised by the council's environmental health officer plus issues raised about parking and other minor issues but worked with the client, and the acoustic consultant, to overcome the issues and the application was approved.
