RCC has undertaken many successful applications for equestrian development including riding arenas in AONB's but as can be seen in the photograph the site was steeply sloping and as such extensive 'cut and fill' was going to be required and this is illustrated in the drawing extract below.
This level of cut and fill can often raise objections from local planning authorities, especially when the proposal is located in a sensitive landscape such as an AONB. The key therefore was that RCC put together a carefully worded and robust planning statement supporting the application showing that there would be no visual harm to the landscape of the area. The result was a full approval with the minimum of delay.
