The council had granted planning permission for a fixed use proposal on the site but our client had varied from that approval on one of the units. The site was in the open countryside, Green Belt and AONB so this was a complicated situation where there was a wide range of considerations for the council. RCC produced a robust case in support of retaining the development as built and used but the planning officers still recommended the application for refusal.
We therefore managed to get the application referred to the planning committee to make the final decision and we, along with the client and the Parish Council, spoke at the committee. The committee accepted our case in support of the application and permission was granted.
